Abstract

The definition of the ownership might be changed across cultures, however as human beans we must respect the ownership of anything. There are number of ways to transfer or gain an ownership of others. To acquire property one can purchase it with money. If someone use others’ properties without purchasing, it is an illegal action.
We are providing a way to protect the royalty of audio music songs. Usually huge number of songs are broadcasted in a radio channel per day. According to the government legislations of most of the countries, radio station should pay some amount to the owners of songs according to their broadcasting. However this is not functioning correctly specially in developing counties. The reason is that it is very hard to monitor radio channels manually. As a solution, we are proposing a way to monitor a radio channel automatically.
Many researchers have tried to provide a way to identify music songs by analysing the content of it. This is known as content based audio identification. In this research we extend this idea to monitor and identify the broadcasted radio streams. First we remove all the unnecessary audio objects such as commercials during the pre-processing. After that songs are identified using a powerful content based audio identification algorithm. At the end of this process, a details reports including the broadcasted history of songs is generated which can be used as a legal document to protect the royalty property of artists. We obtained over 95% accuracy rate.
