Abstract

Computing disciplines (CDs) knowledge is embedded in computers that are pervasive, used by everyone. To maximize benefits to everyone CDs should increase embedded indigenous research and practice knowledge like proverbs in artefacts. The study’s objective was find what proverb research has been done in computing, related disciplines, how research can be unified and extended. Proverbs are bridges for crossing chasms between theory and practice, design and technology, cultures, disciplines and society driven by their transdisciplinarity. Review used transdisciplinary literature review method. Synthesis and extension was done with goal of identifying new opportunities for proverb application in computing. Findings are computing can be made complementary with proverb domain by computing automating and in turn providing inspiration for proverb research and practices and proverbs enriching computing research and practice.
